Members Update 21st Mayby Sue Cooper @ 12:50 PM, 21st May 2020
I hope my message finds you and your family all well and keeping safe.
Just a quick note to congratulate you all on your efforts last week with adhering to the new conditions of play, it all seemed to run smoothly for the first week back. We understand that there have been some teething issues and some members were unable to successfully get a time slot in groups of three. This has now been adjusted by the Match Committee and as of this week bookings are now back to four people. This week (Saturday 23rd May) there will be intervals of 8 minutes between groups reverting to 10 minutes until the current measures are reviewed. Well done to all the Match Committee for implementing this so quickly for the benefit of our members this is not an easy task.
A thought to keep in the back of our minds is that although the restrictions have been eased “a little” that we do not become complacent about what we can or cannot do whilst playing competition golf. There is so much information to take in with all the restrictions and conditions of play and all the media that is surrounding this indifferent time we are living in that it can be very overwhelming, I understand these issues, we are only human, we make mistakes, i too have recently with all that is going on with restrictions, emails, updates, the closure of our business for the time being due to Covid-19 simply have forgotten some aspects of social distancing due to the easing of some of the restrictions so I understand that this is a very difficult time for you all. This is the time that we must all work together, support one another and simply be compassionate and understanding.
I would also like to remind members to please ”keep your cart on the cart paths at all times” the club Committees have gone to great lengths and expense to have cart signs placed on every hole, by driving on tee blocks and on grassed areas you should not be driving on you are potentially damaging the course not only for other members but yourself, again please follow club and Resort directives on these rules sanctions can be imposed if you are found to be doing the wrong thing.
I would like any member that has any suggestions around conditions of play, clarity on rules etc to please contact the Club Secretary via email. In this time of adversity, it is crucial to be united as a club and Committee and march forward, back to where we were before the restrictions were implemented.
I hope that in the very near future we will be able to gather in the resort for a drink and a friendly chat, we will get there, have faith and confidence we will do what is in the best interest of our members and the club, further easing of restrictions is imminent.
Remember that if you have any questions relating to the conditions of play the Match committee is more than happy to assist you.
Safe golfing to you all.
